SNB Creative Chicks #25 Reindeer with Scarf

Today I had a go at making a Christmas decoration using SNB's Reindeer with Scarf stamp. I got the idea from an old card from a friend in Poland. Basically it is 4 circles which fit into each other by cutting notches at the top and the bottom. Here is a picture of it lying flat to give you an idea of how it is put together.

And here is a picture of the 'back'. I have left the back circle empty so that I can write a greeting and send it as a card.

Here is the card that I made for this weekends Vintage Challenge at Create with TLC.

I had to create something with an image from the Name Your Own Price Section of the store. I found my choice here.

Why I chose this one? Well, I recently became a Dutch citizen and I thought this might be a cute way to remind my South African family that while they are having BBQ's for Christmas, I will be FREEZING! :)

This week the team at Meljen's designs wanted to see food so here it is. I made this Box in a Bag for a gift for a friend. The contents? Some Dutch cookies covered in white chocolate and a gift voucher for a sweet shop. The voucher was HUGE, hence the really tall bag.

Purple and Silver Christmas

So I decided to have a go at making a purple and silver card for the challenge over at Christmas Stampin' this week. I already had the CD embroidered and looking for a place on a card and I did the rest with die cuts and stamps. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

It was hard to photograph though! The winter light here turns the purple into blue! So eventually as a last resort, I popped the card in the scanner and at least the purple IS purple :)

It is time for the first October challenge from Designed2Delight digital stamps. The image 'Two apples' was really great to colour.

Then I read the challenge over at DoubleDelight and my heart sank - use border punches. I only have one and of snowflakes!!! Help! So I hope my inventive use of an oval punch will be acceptable. :)

The sentiment is just typed up in MS-Word on the computer.

The paper is from the Season your Holidays club on Create with TLC. Paulette offers lots of fun wordt art and vintage digi freebies. Its well worth having a look at her blog and store.

First the tip.. Did you know that the inside of long life cartons were silver? I cut off the top and bottom of the carton, cut it down the seam and then give the resulting sheet a good wash.

The paper is quite stiff but is great for die cuts like the snowflakes in this card.

The cute penguin is a freebie from Beccy's Place.

Simple Anniversary

I am visiting friends this afternoon and I've just discovered that it was their wedding anniversary yesterday. Luckily, I had this cute little Meljen image Garden Bird House printed and ready for colouring.
